This is Illinois Free Fishing Weekend!!!

       This year’s event will be held on 100 plus acres of private ground southwest of Prophetstown Illinois. We have over 1 mile of Rock River riverbank all to our selves. Boat access is located within a half mile and Port-A-Potty’s will be available. Come share a weekend with other catmen and women from across the country in complete privacy. We will be having a big fish fry, bon fires and great conversation. There will be other events added as time goes by, but make plans now to attend, it’s a ball. The camping area is beautiful and well tended to and there is plenty of firewood at your disposal. Last but not least here is your chance to boat a giant flathead or channel cat on this world famous river.

     We ask that you bring a dish to pass. It is nice because what goes better with camping than food??? There will be a couple of seminars, names to be announced later. Feel free to bring tents, campers or whatever else there is you want to bring. There is gas stations, grocery stores and hotels within 9 miles just so you know.  Friday will be raid the Rock Friday. We will be going out in full force and seeing just how many giant flatty’s and Channels we can photograph. The seminars, raffles and fish fry will take place on Saturday. Sunday morning we’ll have a great big breakfast and picture time before people start to file out. This will be a great weekend and there will be video’s and pictures to commemorate it all. The Lyndon Fire Department is having a catfish tournament on Saturday morning out of the Erie boat ramp, which is the boat ramp we use for the cat camp. The tourney will be 7am-noon. Our Saturday festivities begin at 2 PM with our fish fry and then the raffles and so on. So feel free to join the tourney, it will be fun. I am assuming it will be around 20 bucks a boat. There will be more details on that later. But the whole weekend is shaping up nicely. The raffle prices are awesome so don’t miss a chance at some great stuff.
