G and S cheese bait located in Milledgeville Illinois is ran by Dave and Ron Geary. The base of this bait obviously is cheese with the rest of ingredients being highly secretive. The one thing that isn’t a secret is the effectiveness of this bait. Whether your after a mess of blues or channels in Kansas or Illinois or Ohio this bait plain works. You want to take the family and keep them from getting board? Give this bait a try. We think you’ll be Impressed. Go Catfish……..Catmatt……... |

This video was to be exactly what it turned out to be. A simple day on the backwaters of the Mississippi River chasing Flatheads. Although we will do better work on showing more detail in the future you will get the drift. We were set up on a substantial drop off with 3 giant bridge pillars and a huge complex of wood. We were anchored in 6 feet of water and the washout or back of the hole dipped to 30 feet. We were concentrating on the cover that was anchored on the drop off in the front of the hole. Both of the larger fish were tight to cover and hit very methodically. You don’t see on the first video is the 6 minutes that elapse from the first pick-up to the hook set. The second fish you may be able to see the bite mark that encompasses his hole shoulder area. This fish was given a stern warning to stay away and left with this bite to prove it. This is very common among Flatheads. Remember that these videos will become more instructional next season so enjoy for now and Go Catfish……………………………….Catmatt………………..

A simple day on the rock river can at any time turn in too a day you’ll never forget. This day here was a great day of fishing. High water and swift current. We fished flats on the sides of holes, holes, cover and even low head dam faces. Diversity is so important in catfishing. Always be prepared to switch tackle, locations and baits at anytime. For any of you doubting the Berkley glo-Stik this video is for you. Watch as this short stocky pile of attitude works this rod over for all it’s worth. This fish was just approaching 30 pounds but has 60 pounds of attitude. Cool and windy conditions turned to hot and humid stagnant conditions. Just typical Illinois weather. But with most days 6 or 7 flatheads and a few nice channels to boot makes it special. This day ends up with a very nice sunset, back to back Flatty’s and a great shot of some Glo-Rods. Enjoy and stay tuned, the best is yet to come from the Catfish Academy………………………………………………… |

These two videos here are of the same fish from the Cumberland river in Kentucky at the BOC’s uncle sci-fi memorial. They were taken on 2 different devices and are not top notch quality but we thought you may enjoy watching them anyhow. Fishing a new river for a fish you don’t pursue much can be very intimidating. We applied what we new first, looking for deep holes and a little reduced current. We also looked in deep swift water with structure laden bottoms. We found this fish in 22 feet of water on submerged wood. This was not meant to be instructional at all, just us having a good time on vacation. We would also like to add how much fun we had in Kentucky. Eric Simcox and all the member’s of the BOC made us feel right at home. Enjoy………………... |

What a day this turned out to be. Went out with the intentions of a few small channels to eat, well we got just a hair more than we bargained far. Managed to work some ice out channel cat tips in there for you but the weather just got so bad so fast it actually turned into a big icy mess. You’ll probably enjoy this little clip as it is about as real as it gets. Jon and I along with contributing member and friend Tony Simmons (GofishTony) roll with the punches as the fish and the weather throw everything they have at as. What a fun day. I hope you enjoy it. Another Ice out day on the river. A fine March day with lots of cats, lots of fun and lots of cold. Lots of good information shared on tactics. Extremely high water makes this particular wintering hole absolutely dynamite. Red worms and shad were the baits of choice on this day as the water was approaching 36 degrees. We hope you enjoy it.
