GUIDES

We would like to start by introducing ourselves and to tell you a little more about Cat Pro Guide Service. We are Chad Harmon and Skip Martin and we have fished our whole lives for several different species. We have been doing catfish tournaments for the past ten years or so and started doing national tournaments for the last five. After several years of "losing" by trying to follow the pack and fish like everyone else we started perfecting our own ideas and techniques to put fish in the boat. We have seen alot of weigh-ins and disappointments before it all started to pay off. In turn, it has made us better anglers and more aware of patterns to help us figure out how to catch "our" fish. We figured the best way to pass this on and to help get more anglers involved was to start offering guided trips. This not only allows us to teach, but also allows us to learn more.
Cat Pro Guide Service is based out of northeast Ohio. We mainly target trophy channel cats and flatheads. We are also available to book out of state trips to the Carolinas and south to the Cumberland and Tennessee river systems if you prefer to target Blue cats. Our trips range from daytime channel cats or blue cats on up to night bite flatheads and anywhere in between. Our extensive tournament background allows us a good shot to get on fish no matter what the conditions. We have several proven daytime and night time tactics to put you on fish. We fish out of very safe V boats and offer safe family oriented trips or hard core tournament classes.

Hello, Catmatt here. I have lived and fished on the Rock River for over 30 years. I love the river and the fish that dwell in it. Guiding is the highlight of the year for me…..Getting to see peoples reactions to there first cat….there biggest cat or there most cat’s is very, very rewarding. In a day it won’t be uncommon to go through pounds of shad, G and S cheese bait, mooneye or a variety of live baits depending on what species of catfish your after. I love Flatheads and most of my guiding is centered around them however Channel cats are very popular and we catch a ton of them as well. I am willing to do weekends, weekdays and/or night or day. I fish channel cats almost all winter as long as we can get on the river. Flatheads are usually a go from May through October.

I run a G3 Gator Tough Jon powered by 90 horses of Yamaha power. The boat is very comfortable at over 18 feet and easily fishes 3-4 people comfortably. I will guide from 1 to 3 people at a time for an 8 hour trip you will never forget. Along the way we will discuss tips, tackle and techniques so when you return home the trip can help you become more efficient at catching cats on your home water.

I have been fortunate to say the least with many Television appearances, our own radio show, lots of seminaring, a great website and more. But when it comes down to it, guiding takes the cake. For a great day on the water give me a call.Click Here for rates and more.
